Glutathione is produced naturally by the body as its most important antioxidant and is predominantly synthesized in the liver. Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine.

Antioxidants are important to the body because they prevent oxidative damage. As a major antioxidant, glutathione conditions other antioxidants such as alpha lipoic acid, vitamin C and vitamin E.
