WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CIS- AND TRANS-RESVERATROL?
Resveratrol is an organic chemical compound from the polyphenol group naturally occurring primarily in the skins and seeds of grapes or knotweed. It comes in two forms: trans- and cis-. The main difference between the forms is that the trans- form is the most active resveratrol molecule, as opposed to the less active cis- form.

WHAT IS THE "FRENCH PARADOX"?
The popularity of resveratrol is linked to the description in 1992 by Professor Serge Reynaud of the so-called "French paradox." This term describes a phenomenon occurring in the French population. Compared to other Western European nations, the French, despite their much higher consumption of animal fats, are far less likely to suffer from atherosclerosis. Professor Reynaud's observation was confirmed by a study involving 100,000 people from 21 countries. For five years, the coronary heart disease risk scale was observed and compared with the number of actual incidents. In the French population, the incidence rate was significantly lower than that of other countries, which was linked to the higher consumption of red wine. Of course, when considering the topic of the "French paradox," one should look more broadly than through the prism of red wine consumption alone; other dietary factors, as well as behavioral and socioeconomic factors, are also important. As Prof. Reynaud pointed out, the French also consume large amounts of fruits and vegetables, use olive oil, eat their meals unhurriedly and do not overeat between them. Nevertheless, wine undeniably contains ingredients that show positive effects on health. However, it is important to remember that only when drunk in small quantities can it show health-promoting effects. WHY WAS RESVERATROL COMBINED WITH GRAPEVINE?
Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant. Combining it with another potent antioxidant enhances its effects. Grapevine proper, not only has antioxidant properties, but is also a wealth of natural nutrients, vitamins and elements. Grapevine is rich in organic acids, protein, pectin, anthocyanins, flavones and amino acids.
WHAT TESTS DOES THE SUPPLEMENT UNDERGO?
Every batch of resveratrol, like every other LABS212 supplement, passes microbiological testing (for the presence of bacteria), heavy metal testing, and gluten testing. In addition, resveratrol, like other plant extracts, undergoes a test called PAH, or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (Benzo[a]anthracene, Benzo[β]fluoranthene, Chrysene and Benzo[α]pyrene), Benzo[α]pyrene).
