The body needs fatty acids to survive and is able to produce all but two: linoleic acid (LA) from the omega-6 family and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) from the omega-3 family. These two fatty acids must be supplied through the diet and are therefore considered essential fatty acids (EFAs). Molecularly distilled Mega EPA/DHA contains twice as much EPA and DHA as most commercially available fish oil capsules.

Fatty acids in diets

Omega-3 fatty acids, found in cold-water fish (and fish oil), perilla and flaxseed oil, are essential components of a healthy diet. Omega-3 oils contain eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are typically lacking in the typical Western diet, which is filled with foods containing large amounts of omega-6 fats. EPA and DHA can be synthesized in the body from ALA, but EPA and DHA synthesis may be insufficient under certain conditions and for most people following a Western diet.
Most Americans and citizens of other Western countries consume far too much omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and not enough omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. In fact, some Western diets consist of 20 parts omega-6 to only one part omega-3. For optimal health, the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids should be between 1:1 and 4:1.
Studies link the Mediterranean diet - rich in omega-3 fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids such as those found in olive oil, and antioxidant-rich fruits, vegetables and herbs - to cardiovascular health and life extension. Other studies confirm the importance of omega-3 fatty acids for cardiovascular health.

Fish oil concentrate, provides: (Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)), Vitamin E (D-alpha-tocopherol), highly refined fish oil concentrate (anchovy), gelatin, carrier: glycerin; purified water, color: caramel; natural flavor, antioxidant: mixed tocopherols, rosemary extract; sunflower oil.

Take 2 capsules 1 time daily with food. RECOMMENDED DAILY DOSE: 2 capsules. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving for consumption.
