Zinc, a chemical element in the transition metal group, is a micronutrient involved in many physiological processes in the body.

Zinc, among other things:

helps in the proper functioning of the immune system
helps in the proper synthesis of DNA
helps in proper protein synthesis
takes part in the process of cell division
Helps maintain normal cognitive functions
Helps maintain healthy hair and nails
Contributes to maintaining normal macronutrient metabolism.

Zinc in Solgar's formula is present in chelate form. The mineral ions are attached to the basic bricks from which proteins are built - amino acids. Such binding of minerals to amino acids is what we call amino acid chelation.

SUMMARY

Zinc in the product is in the form of a chelate - zinc diglycinate.
The zinc ion in the molecule of this chelate is attached to two molecules of one of the simplest protein amino acids - glycine.
Zinc diglycinate is a chemical form with better bioavailability than zinc gluconate
