Brain
Dietary supplement ALLmag® is a complex magnesium preparation containing 3 organic forms of magnesium: malate, gluconate and citrate, as well as B vitamins: vitamin B1, vitamin B2 in the form of R-5-P, vitamin B5 in the form of calcium D-pantothenate and vitamin B6 as P-5-P.

Magnesium is an essential and irreplaceable component of the biochemical functions of the cell, being an activator of more than 300 different enzymes. It actively participates in the course of important metabolic pathways, such as glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, β-oxidation and ion transport across cell membranes. Due to its physicochemical properties, Mg2 can bind to the cell nucleus, ribosomes, cell membranes and macromolecules of the cell's cytosol.

WHY WAS MAGNESIUM COMBINED WITH B VITAMINS?

Every thought, feeling, emotion, action, learning and recollection is accompanied by a complex symphony of biochemical processes supervised by the nervous system. The nervous system has an overarching, regulating and integrating function in relation to other human systems and organs. It receives and registers stimuli, then processes information and, working together with other systems, ensures the harmonious functioning of the entire organism. Effective functioning of the nervous system requires adequate concentrations of neurotransmitters, but because of the biochemical transformations taking place in the brain, it is also necessary to maintain adequate levels of enzyme reaction cofactors. Both magnesium and B vitamins are essential for proper nervous system function. Vitamin B1 is involved in the conduction of nerve impulses, vitamin B2 is involved in the production of key neurotransmitters (including dopamine and serotonin), vitamin B5 is one of the factors regulating adrenal function and the formation of conatomia. Extremely important for the nervous system is vitamin B6, which is involved in the metabolism of tryptophan - a precursor of serotonin, shows neuroprotective effects - attenuates the neurotoxicity of domoic acid (in shellfish poisoning), more than regulates the concentration of homocysteine, excess of which results in the development of many pathological conditions. Vitamin B6 is also essential in the absorption of magnesium, and the presence of magnesium is necessary for the proper conduction of nerve impulses. Magnesium activates and enables the consolidation of interneuronal connections, thus supporting short- and long-term memory.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT FORMS OF MAGNESIUM?

On the supplement market you can find a number of different forms of magnesium, which differ primarily in their absorption, but also in their additional effects. We can primarily distinguish between organic and inorganic forms of magnesium. The differences in absorption between organic and inorganic forms are widely described in many studies. Magnesium from inorganic compounds is said to be absorbed in the average range of 10-16% and even 4% in the case of the popular magnesium oxide. Which, when compared with the absorption of magnesium from organic compounds at about 90%, is an incomparable difference.

WHEN IS IT MOST BENEFICIAL TO TAKE MAGNESIUM?

The timing of magnesium intake is a rather vague topic, as we have two schools. Magnesium, depending on its form but also on the demand or deficits in the body, can have a stimulating or calming effect. We recommend finding your own optimal time of supply, in the morning, during the day or in the evening. Magnesium along with vitamin C, carnitine can be added to a bottle or water bottle and sipped throughout the day.
