Coenzyme Q10, commonly known as CoQ10, is intimately involved in metabolic processes that convert glucose into the energy that drives every process in the body.

For this reason, muscle tissue is extremely rich in coenzyme Q10 - the highest concentration is found in the heart muscle. In our product we use exceptionally high quality CoQ10. Each capsule of the supplement contains 100 mg of CoQ10.

Ubiquinone and ubiquinol

There are two different forms of CoQ10. Ubiquinol is better soluble in water than ubiquinone, and is more popular for its antioxidant properties and greater bioavailability than ubiquinone.

Ubiquinone is the oxidized form of CoQ10. Most of the research on coenzyme Q10 has been done specifically with this form, used in cellular energy and ATP metabolism.

Ubiquinol, on the other hand, requires conversion to ubiquinone to be absorbed in the intestines. It then converts many more times, sometimes in less than a second, to best perform its function depending on where in the body it is located (in the blood, lymph or mitochondria). That's why we use ubiquinone in our CoQ10 product.
