CAN ADDING MILK TO COFFEE + COLLAGEN DISRUPT MY FASTING?

    Full-fat, half-fat and skimmed cow's milk contain too many calories to maintain a fast. But if you use unsweetened plant milk, avoid those fortified with extra protein, and unless you're adding half a cup at a time, a little plant milk shouldn't make much difference. A general rule of thumb is to keep the total calorie count (infusion and milk) within 50 kcal, so we recommend no more than 50 ml of any milk, provided the nutritional information is provided:
    Less than 28 kcal per 100 ml
    Less than 2.5 g of total carbohydrates per 100 ml
    Less than 2.5 g of sugar per 100 ml
    Less than 0.5 g of protein per 100 ml.

WHY DOES BRAVE METHOD RECOMMEND ADDING MCT TO COFFEE + COLLAGEN?

    By adding True MCT to one of our blends, you add another layer of fuel to your day. You gain all the nutritional benefits of hydrolyzed collagen and the ketogenic potential of MCTs. With the Coffee + Collagen blend, you may find that when the caffeine wears off, the MCT oils continue to work.

HOW TO PREPARE COFFEE + COLLAGEN?

    Coffee + Collagen is Turkish-style coffee, which means finely ground roasted coffee (not instant), so use it with a French press or coffee maker and add 250 ml of hot water. If you add just water, the coffee will sag rather than dissolve, so it will have a gritty consistency. So, if you pour 10 g into the coffee maker and then pour 250 ml of hot water into the cylinder of the coffee maker and make sure the coffee grounds are saturated. After that, it's best to let the coffee steep for a few minutes, then stir and let it sit for another 5 minutes, after which the coffee should calm down. If you are taking coffee + collagen with MCT oil, this will require blending for about 5 seconds until the coffee is smooth and creamy. Any blender will be suitable.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO KEEP OUR COFFEE FREE OF MYCOTOXINS?

    Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites of mold, and coffee is one of the largest sources of mycotoxins in food. Some types of coffee contain more mycotoxins than others. Exposure to mycotoxins has no benefit, and even small amounts within legal standards can affect the health of some sensitive individuals. The main mycotoxins are aflatoxin B1 (a known carcinogen) and ochratoxin A. We have taken additional measures to ensure that our coffee is not only organic and pesticide-free, but also free of unwanted mold.
