Nattokinase is an enzyme derived from "natto," a traditional fermented soy food popular in Japan. During the natto production process, non-GMO soybeans are cooked and fermented with friendly Bacillus subtilis bacteria that produce nattokinase. Doctor's Best Nattokinase contains the enzyme nattokinase with the vitamin K2 removed. Nattokinase has been shown to support a healthy cardiovascular system by helping to maintain normal fibrinogen levels in the blood.

HOW IT WORKS.

Nattokinase lowers plasma levels of proteins that affect blood flow. These actions of Nattokinase are similar to the endogenously produced enzyme, plasmin. Plasmin, present in the blood, breaks down many plasma proteins, including fibrin clots. The net effect of lowering the levels of these proteins is to modulate overall circulation and blood flow. These effects have been demonstrated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies.
