Studies of extracts from this plant indicate that the active ingredients in it interact through serotonin receptors, which may explain the traditional use of this plant in menopausal women. The daily serving of the dietary supplement Plant Complex for Women contains 250 mg of the powdered plant.

There are many sources of phytoestrogens, or plant estrogen (female hormone), in our food.
