Vitamin D levels in the blood depend mainly on skin exposure to sunlight, which stimulates the body to produce cholecalciferol, and on its intake with the diet. A balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important. Natural sources of vitamin D can raise its levels, however, they are considered ineffective for maintaining its recommended levels by experts throughout the year.

Solgar's Vitamin D3 4000 IU is made from lanolin - a wax extracted from sheep's wool. No harm is done to sheep during shearing, so the product is suitable for vegetarians. In a package made of special dark glass, there are 60 vegetable capsules, each of which contains 100 μg of cholecalciferol.
