KERATIN - WHY DID WE CHOOSE FRENCH CYNATINE® HNS?

Keratin proteins are tough, insoluble, hardly absorbable compounds. When keratin is solubilized, i.e. increased solubility, it is highly bioavailable. Keratin is also characterized by resistance to proteolytic enzymes such as trypsin, pepsin and papain. This means that it is not digested like other proteins.
The effects of the bioavailable, patented, solubilized keratin Cynatine® HNS have been confirmed in:
  • reducing hair loss (up to 34.5% compared to placebo after 60 days of use), improving hair strength and increasing shine, Average percentage reduction in the hair pulling test compared to baseline for placebo and Cynatine® HNS. (1)
  • effect on improving the anagen and telogen phases (by 9.2% after 90 days of testing compared to the placebo group). What does this mean?
  • Anagen is the first phase of the hair cycle associated with the proliferation of cells in the hair follicle, i.e. stimulation of hair growth. Cynatine® HNS stimulates hair follicle growth, allowing for faster hair growth/growth.
  • Telogen is the resting phase. Its prolongation is key in the prevention of alopecia areata, for example.
  • The effect on hair growth of all 4 key amino acids based on their ratio to total protein content, Average percent change in amino acid profile from baseline for placebo and Cynatine® HNS. (1)
  • protection against skin water loss (the placebo group reported a significant deterioration in skin hydration due to prevailing weather conditions - the study was conducted in winter), Average percent change in skin hydration for placebo and Cynatine® HNS. (2)
  • Reduction and shallowing of fine wrinkles,
  • support maintenance of skin firmness and elasticity, Average percent change in skin elasticity for placebo and Cynatine® HNS. (2)
  • Reducing skin redness caused by inflammation,
  • achieving a nice skin tone and brightening of the skin,
  • providing nails with better strength, elasticity and improved nail plate hydration.
Keratin promotes improved skin appearance due to its natural antioxidant properties related to its effect on the production of superoxide dismutases and glutathione (GSH).
The above conclusions come from randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials published in two journals (International Journal of Cosmetic Science, The Scientific World Journal). In both studies, the active group was given 500 mg of Cynatine® HNS plus zinc, copper, vitamins B3, B5, B6, B7 for 90 days. The same ingredient, in the same amount, is available in BEAUTY HAIR™.
The results show that subjects taking Cynatine® HNS showed statistically significant improvement in hair and nail condition compared to placebo, making Cynatine® HNS an effective product for improving hair and nail condition in 90 days or less.

WHAT VITAMINS ARE INCLUDED IN BEAUTY HAIR™?

Vitamins included in BEAUTY HAIR™ are:
  • vitamin B3 / PP (nicotinic acid amide)
  • Vitamin B5 (calcium D-pantothenate)
  • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxalo 5′-phosphate, P 5′-P)
  • D-biotin, vitamin B7 / HH
  • Inositol (myo-inositol), although not a vitamin, is called
  • PABA, para-aminobenzoic acid, commonly referred to as vitamin B10.

WHAT EFFECT DO THE ABOVE VITAMINS HAVE IN THE CONTEXT OF HAIR, SKIN AND NAIL SUPPORT?

Niacin (vitamin B3) supports healthy skin, which is a prerequisite for keeping hair in good condition.
Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), has a positive effect on premature graying of hair.
Vitamin B6, pyridoxine is involved in protein metabolism. As a cofactor, it activates enzymes and enables the chemical reactions that start the metabolism of hair proteins, keratin and melanin, in hair follicles. Together with cysteine, it helps prevent hair loss.
Vitamin B6 also controls the release of hormones. The active form of pyridoxal 5-phosphate regulates the action of androgens: testosterone and estrogen. These hormones have a direct effect on hair growth. Dihydrotestosterone, a metabolite of testosterone, negatively affects hair growth and leads to hair loss by shortening the length of the anagen phase and reducing the size of hair follicles. According to research, vitamin B6 binds to testosterone receptors and stops the formation of DHT. Biotin (vitamin B7) is involved in fat and protein metabolism, and its deficiency can lead to hair loss. Due to the presence of sulfur in the structure of biotin, it affects the state of the skin coating, reducing sebum secretion and activating hair growth.
Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) is functionally related to hair quality, particularly melanogenesis. Hair melanogenesis is closely linked to the stages of the hair cycle. Active pigmentation occurs during anagen (growth), but not during the catagen or telogen phases. One study evaluated the effects of PABA at doses of 12-24 g/day on age-related gray hair. 35% of subjects noticed hair darkening after 2-10 months of intake.
In randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials published in two journals (International Journal of Cosmetic Science, The Scientific World Journal), from which the conclusions excerpted in the question above were drawn, the active groups were given vitamins B3, B5, B6, B7 in addition to Cynatine® HNS.

ANTI-ANDROGENIC PROPERTIES OF SABAL PALM

DHT is the active form of testosterone. Testosterone, under the influence of the enzyme 5α-reductase, is converted into a highly active androgen - dehydrotestosterone (DHT). Elevated levels of this hormone, through miniaturization of hair follicles, result in adrogenic alopecia, as well as increased seborrhea of the scalp. Sabal palm fruit extract, with anti-androgenic properties, has gained popularity due to its benefits for hair regrowth after androgenic and telogenetic alopecia, as well as improvement in seborrheic dermatitis.
The extract consists mainly of fatty acids, phytosterols such as beta sitosterol (0.1%), β-carotene, vitamin E derivatives and polysaccharides. Sabal palm aids in lowering DHT by inhibiting the activity of 5α-reductase, the enzyme that converts testosterone into dehydrotestosterone (DHT). Beta-sitosterol, one of sabal palm's constituents, is a competitive, non-selective inhibitor of both isoforms (types1 and 2) of 5α-reductase, blocking nuclear uptake of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and reducing DHT's ability to bind to androgen receptors by almost 50%.
The components of the fatty acid extracted from palm directly inhibit the activity of the 5α-reductase enzyme, assist in the selective hormonal transformation processes of the enzyme, and increase access to cofactors by affecting the state of its conformation (spatial structure).

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF APIGENIN IN BEAUTY HAIR™?

Many bioactive compounds in plants exhibit functional activity. The largest group of naturally occurring polyphenols are flavonoids, including apigenin.
Apigenin is a promising ingredient in supplements dedicated to hair loss and hair growth stimulation. Androgen-induced transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta1), found in dermal papilla cells, signals hair follicles to end the anagen growth phase and move into the catagen transition phase. Apigenin, by reducing TGF-beta1 expression, allows the anagen phase to continue.
There are three phases of hair growth - anagen (growth), catagen (atrophy) and telogen (loss).

SILICA AND ITS IMPORTANCE FOR HAIR

Chemically speaking, silica is silicon dioxide (SiO2).
Silicon is an essential trace element involved in the metabolism of connective tissue. It plays an important role by activating hydroxylation enzymes to crosslink collagen, promoting its elasticity and strength.
Physiological concentrations of orthosilicic acid (OSA) have been shown to stimulate fibroblasts to secrete type I collagen. Collagen and the fibers it forms are responsible for the biomechanical properties of the skin. They are essential components of the integrity
structural integrity of connective tissue and are present in large quantities in skin, bones and joints. It is described that the amount of collagen in the skin decreases by about 1% per year starting at age 21, resulting in a decrease in its thickness and loss of elasticity, directly related to the depth of wrinkles. The right structure and amount of collagen, ultimately translates into better skin, hair and nails. Higher silicon content in hair means a lower rate of hair loss and increased elasticity and smoothness in the form of healthier looking, shiny hair.

AMINO ACIDS, AND HAIR GROWTH

BEAUTY HAIR™ contains two amino acids, L-cysteine and L-methionine.
L-cysteine is an essential sulfur-containing amino acid that is involved in many metabolic pathways. It is a key component of keratin protein due to its ability to form disulfide bridges, which give the protein its strength and rigidity.
L-cysteine promotes significant keratin expression through de novo protein synthesis, while iron deficiency impairs keratin expression. Cysteine supplementation counteracts the adverse effects of iron deficiency on cellular keratin expression, probably by increasing the metabolic availability of iron for DNA synthesis.
Cysteine, as a component of keratin, is found in hair in the highest amount (10-17%) and is one of the endogenous amino acids whose synthesis depends on the presence of methionine. Growth rate, hair diameter and protein synthesis depend on cysteine. The active form of vitamin B6 (pyridoxal 5-phosphate) increases the incorporation of L-cysteine into keratin.
