Pink October - breast cancer awareness month. The most important thing is prevention.

For almost 40 years, worldwide, October has been Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the second most common malignant tumor in the world and accounts for 25% of all cases. What is worth noting is that it is rare, but can also occur in men, especially at a mature age. All this makes prevention, that is, prevention or early detection of breast cancer, very important.

The basis of proper prevention is, of course, to lead a healthy lifestyle, which means, first of all, to take care of a wholesome diet, rich in natural nutrients, avoiding excessive fat and limiting alcohol consumption. Also important is regular physical activity and maintaining a healthy body weight. Healthy sleep is also very important. Regular preventive examinations should not be forgotten either. Unfortunately, there is no method that will one hundred percent protect us from getting sick, but it is worth taking care of ourselves and doing everything to minimize the risk.

It is certainly also good to remember that natural, high-quality dietary supplements can be a valuable support for cancer prevention. Prominent among them are supplements containing Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids lower the risk of cancer, studies say, because they have anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin, ginger, spirulina and green tea also have anti-inflammatory effects. Cancer prevention can also be supported by lycopene, which protects cells from damage. Resveratrol has strong antioxidant effects, and quercitin supports the immune system and has antiviral effects. Sulforaphane is a powerful antioxidant, supports the immune system, and can activate apoptosis, a controlled process of cell death that can threaten the body's health, and also supports regeneration. Vitamins C and E support the balance between free radicals and antioxidants, and vitamin D the immune system, so they also support cancer prevention. Minerals such as selenium, zinc, copper and magnesium can also make a big difference. These minerals promote antioxidant processes, support the work of the immune system, and can also effectively reduce the process of carcinogenesis.

In cancer prevention, it is also worth mentioning UV filters, regular use of which reduces the risk of developing melanoma. Creams with filters should be used not only in the summer, but all year round, both by children and adults.

The slogan "Prevention is better than cure" has been known for years, so it is worth taking it to heart.
