Dietary supplement KPU is a preparation in the form of a vegetable capsule containing an optimal combination of: zinc in the form of an organic compound (zinc citrate), vitamin B2, vitamin B6 (in the form of P-5-P and pyridoxine hydrochloride), biotin and manganese.

Zinc:

Zinc is a cofactor of enzymes of protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, as well as nucleic acids: alcohol dehydrogenase, superoxide dismutase, DNA polymerase, RNA polymerase, alkaline phosphatase, carboxypeptidase. It is involved in the activity of more than 200 enzymes.

Vitamin B2 riboflavin:
  • helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system,

The most biologically active form of vitamin B6 is pyridoxal 5-phosphate. It is a coenzyme for more than 100 enzymes responsible for the work of the entire body, making B6 one of the most "hardworking" B vitamins. Vitamin B6 is involved in the metabolism of amino acids, and has an invaluable role in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and GABA, and in the metabolism of liver enzymes (AST, ALT). Vitamin B6 also contributes to the production of other vitamins, such as niacin from tryptophan.

WHAT IS CRYPTOPYROLURIA (KPU)? HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES IT AFFECT?

Cryptopyroluria (KPU) is a biochemical-enzymatic disorder of heme metabolism that often occurs in children and adults with a heavy family history (autoimmune diseases in mom, hypothyroidism of unclear etiology in both parents). This problem affects nearly 10% of the population. Hemopirolactamuria is associated with deficiency symptoms: zinc, vitamin B6, manganese, biotin, magnesium, chromium, lithium and arachidonic acid. Losses of these minerals cannot be replenished with a balanced diet, they are too high. In laboratory test results, we note elevated copper, elevated or reduced serum histamine levels, as well as immunoglobulin IgA deficiency or excess homocysteine.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF KPU?

KPU is associated with increased urinary excretion of hemopyrollactam - HPL. Among the causes of the development of KPU are the following factors: genetic, environmental, infectious (chronic bacterial infections with, among others, Borelia burgdorferi spirochete) and psychological (trauma or chronic stress).

WHY IS THERE ONLY 0.75 MG OF MANGANESE IN THE KPU SUPPLEMENT?

The basis of support with KPU is the implementation of supplementation with the above-mentioned minerals. When determining supplementation, special attention should be paid to manganese. It has been found that simultaneous exposure of brain mitochondria to manganese and ammonia (produced in excess by intestinal bacteria) causes more pronounced damage to them.

ISN'T MAGNESIUM NECESSARY FOR SUPPLEMENTATION UNDER KPU?

It is! Magnesium is an integral part of supplementation under KPU. However, you will not find it in our supplement. Magnesium is very volumetric - the amount of magnesium salt to obtain 100-150 ions of pure magnesium is generally about 1-2 g in bulk value, depending on the form of magnesium. Which means, in practice, 4-5 capsules in size "0". KPU supplement is a tiny "3" capsule. We offer two magnesiums: Magnesium Citrate and Magnesium Tuarylate and Magnesium Malate, also in kit form.

HOW SHOULD KPU BE SUPPLEMENTED?

KPU supplement should be taken with or after a meal. The zinc found in the formula when taken on an empty stomach can cause a feeling of nausea, so always supplement zinc after eating. Due to the content of B vitamins, we recommend taking by 4 pm
